Who is in care, where, and what happens next

For kennel staff, medical teams and managers. The census, the kennel board and daily care, built to be worked from a phone.

Census and kennel board

See who is in care, where they are and what is free, across runs, isolation, nursery and foster. The board reflects custody on each animal’s record, so it is never a separate spreadsheet that drifts.

Holds, stages and the next action

Each animal shows its stage, time in care, placement, holds, next medical event and next action at a glance. A hold names what it blocks, who owns it and when it is reviewed, so a stray hold or a behaviour hold cannot be forgotten.

Tasks and the medical schedule live on the same record, so the next vaccination and the next walk are in one place.

“My work” for every role

Each person opens to what is theirs. Managers see tasks assigned to them and applications waiting on the shelter. The medical team sees today’s appointments and animals awaiting veterinary clearance. Drivers see their transport run. Care staff answer each round with Done, Skipped or Couldn’t. Foster coordinators see overdue check-ins against your schedule.

Daily care, recorded as it happens

Routine care is recorded on the phone during the round rather than reconstructed at the end of a shift. Personality notes from different staff are kept with their context and trait tags, so the next person, and the adopter, knows the animal.

Questions

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The care board, rounds and “My work” are designed for phones; the screens on urshelter.com are live captures from a phone.

Can we set our own rules?

Yes. Your shelter’s policies, for example who handles surrender requests, can be changed from the default, and the change is recorded.

Does it replace our veterinary software?

No. urShelter is designed to sit alongside the systems you already run, including your vet. The practices you work with are connected to the animals they treat.
